Frequently asked questions about Rods' Garden Furniture
What's it made of ?
All Rods' furniture is made from hardwood, mostly Sapele.
Traditional wooden joints are glued and in most cases locked in place with wooden dowels.
Can you leave it outside ?
(Do you have an indoor garden? :-)
Leave it outside all year round, you might want a place to sit when we're lucky
enough to get some sun in the winter.
What's it treated with ?
All our furniture is treated with a coloured wood preserver and teak oil.
It's a good idea to give the furniture a coat of something to protect against
the weather once a year, preferably in the spring as it's the summer sun that
does the most damage. If you leave the furniture untreated you'll find the wood
weathers to a lighter colour.
Does it come flat-packed ?
No ! It's fully assembled and positively robust.
Can you make . . .
Yes - probably. We can make minor modifications to the standard range or completely
custom furniture. We've made hexagonal benches to go round trees and crazy shoe-shine
benches. Don't ask for really weird stuff in the spring & summer because
we'll be busy.
